Wudbhav (Woody) Sankar, MD
Dr. Wudbhav (Woody) N. Sankar is an Associate Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and an attending surgeon at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is co-medical director of the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) and director of hip preservation at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Sankar currently heads up the pediatric and adolescent hip program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and has special interest in the treatment of a variety of hip conditions including developmental dysplasia of the hip, Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, femoroacetabular impingement, slipped capital femoral epiphysis and avascular necrosis. His active areas of research include imaging and treatment of DDH, hip conditions in Trisomy 21, and the optimal management of slipped epiphysis and perthes disease.

Dr. Sankar has published over thirty papers specifically on DDH and DDH topics with major contributions in the area of infant ultrasound, non-operative treatment (i.e. alternative braces), and surgical management.
